Dr Bernard Chidzero Scholarship

The Dr Bernard Chidzero Scholarship is awarded to outstanding Zimbabwean postgraduate students pursuing Masters or PhD programmes in Economics or related fields. It honours the legacy of Dr Bernard Chidzero, Zimbabwe's first Finance Minister and a towering figure in African economic development.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be registered at the University of Zimbabwe
• Applicants must be in their first year of either:
  • a Master’s degree, or
  • a PhD programme

Academic Requirements

• For Master’s applicants:
  • A minimum of a 2.1 (Upper Second Class) in their undergraduate degree
• For PhD applicants:
  • Must be formally registered in a PhD programme in Economics
